NEVER TURN YOUR HORSE OUT AFTER A RAIN. THEIR FEET DESTROY THE GRASS. I Horse Show a lot anyways and do not want my horse turned out. WELL GREAT! YOU DON'T NEED BIG ACREAGE THEN! USE THE SPACE TO BUILD A NICE ARENA. THEN TURN THE HORSE OUT TO RUN WHEN YOU WANT. I Trail Ride a lot. Do I need acreage? NOT IF YOU LIVE NEAR A CREEK OR A TRAIL SYSTEM. OUT IN THE COUNTRY EVERYONE FENCES ANYWAYS. YOU CAN'T RIDE BUT DOWN THE SIDE OF A ROAD. AND 200 ACRES IS A 15 MINUTE RIDE. Do you find large acreage farms beautiful? OF COURSE WE ALL DO. BUT NOT WHEN WE HAVE TO MAINTAIN IT ALL! DO YOU WANT TO CONTINUE TO HAVE A LIFE? OR END UP WORKING IT AWAY. YOU WORK ALL MORNING AND HAVE TO GO HOME TO MORE WORK! THAT IS WRONG...LIVE YOUR LIFE. Do you want a hobby or just another job? SMALL ACREAGE ENABLES YOU TO ENJOY YOUR HOBBY. DON'T LET YOUR HORSE, OR YOUR LIFE STYLE, BECOME YOUR BOSS! HORSES ARE FUN BECAUSE IT IS A SOCIAL ACTIVITY. YOU WILL NEED A TRAILER TO TAKE YOUR HORSE ANYWHERE. AND YOU WILL NEED TO FIND THE TIME TO DO IT. Your friends will hardly ever see you again. YES YOU WILL MEET NEW ONES BUT YOUR LIFE SHRINKS DOWN TO HOW MANY NEIGHBORS YOU HAVE. HORSES STARTED ALL THE TRAILS IN HOUSTON. So lets ride them and keep them! There are still homes in Memorial where horses can be found. And we are still allowed to ride on all of the trails. We haul to Memorial Park to show our presence. And Callegari only really knows our Cypress neck of the woods. But there are subdivisions all over Houston. Many enable you to hit the Cypress trail system using easements to get there. Some are directly on the Cypress trail system. Some are on other trail systems. |
